If you want to become a Crèdit Andorrà client, below is a list of the documents that you will need. In order to speed up the process of opening a nominated account, you can send these documents to the following address:

Documents required for clients residing in Andorra

  • New account application form. Download form
  • Copy of passport or ID card.
  • Proof of your current address (for example, a bill from your electricity or water supplier) unless this is already stated on your passport.
  • Verification of your reported business or profession:

If you are employed, you will need to submit at least one of the following documents:

  • Current work contract specifying the individual or legal entity employing you (name and surname or company name).
  • Wage slip or proof of income (pension or unemployment benefit if unemployed) within 3 months of the date of submission.
  • Statement of social security contributions or certificate issued by the social security office certifying that you are currently in employment.
  • Certificate issued by your employer.

If you are self-employed, you will need to submit at least one of the following documents:

  • Proof of registration on the register of self-employed workers.
  • Tax return corresponding to the last tax year.
  • Bank references including your professional activity.
  • Proof of allocation of a tax identification number for business activities.

If you do not carry out any business activity, you will need to provide:

  • A sworn statement certifying that you are not engaged in any income-earning activity.

Origin of funds

You will need to submit documentary proof of the origin of your funds (bank statements for the account from which the funds originated, contracts in support of the income, etc.).

If you live in an EU member state, you will also need to submit the following documents: A certificate pursuant to Directive 2003/48/EC to avoid paying the withholding tax levied on interest payments in the Principality of Andorra.

Important note

  • Receipt of the supporting documentation does not necessarily imply that the account will be opened.
  • As soon as Crèdit Andorrà approves the account application, the client will be issued with an IBAN number. In addition, if Crèdit Andorrà SA approves the account application, the account holder(s) will be required to go to the offices of Crèdit Andorrà to sign the relevant contractual document.
  • No amount will be credited to the account until the contractual document has been signed.
  • Crèdit Andorrà, SA will not be held liable for the disclosures that the client is required to make to the competent authorities in their country of residence.
  • The applicant and their representative, where applicable, hereby state that they are aware that their personal data contained in the attached documents will be included in files held by Crèdit Andorrà, SA.
  • Under current personal data protection legislation, the applicant may access such files to view or rectify their personal data if they are inaccurate or have changed, or to delete them, in accordance with the Personal Data Protection Act No. 15/2003 of 18 December 2003.
